Exploring West Crete by car is definitively the best way to discover beaches, mountains, gorges, monasteries, caves and villages. We always recommend our guest not to stuck to the north coast, but drive through the mountains to the south. South Crete has a lot to offer:
- Paleochora – the biggest village on the south-west crete, you will find long landy beach, pebbled beach Anydroi, castle on top of the island with fantastic view and various coffee – shops and restaurants.
- Sougia – a small kind of hippie village with long beach and marvelous water.
- Loutro – picturesque village only accessible by boat.
Swimming in Libyan sea has a completely different feeling! Also, south Crete is a nice place to escape crowds of tourists in August ;).
